Summer Brights & Brunch

Summer has Brights & Brunch Written All Over It

Yellow has been my ode to missing last spring and summer style and launching summer this year. Not only does it compliment my complexion, but it is a happy color. It is the color associated with the sun; symbolizing optimism, energy, joy, happiness, and friendship. It is a color of power, fulfilment, abundance, courage, and self-confidence. Allegedly, in ancient times, it stood for wisdom and intellect. We won’t talk about the negative effects of the color yellow, in this article, it’s just positivity sunshine. I mean can we talk about the song Yellow by Coldplay? “Look at the stars, look how they shine for you!” Like hello, oozing positivity. But today, we are talking summer style and summer brunch. If you don’t know me by now, you would know how much I love brunch. In fact, I am writing this article currently on Tuesday, from where I brunched this afternoon. There is nothing that says joy and living your best you than brunch, and YELLOW! Scroll Down for more…

I wouldn’t be myself without sharing my favorite brunch spots in Connecticut. Brunch is all about being comfortable and also having a wholesome meal. Something that not everyone has to consider is also feeling comfortable and not feeling unwanted in a place. The places I have listed below are BIPOC friendly. It’s always imperative especially at this point in my life where I feel that I may as well have an amazing experience if I am going to spend money.

In regards to the look I am wearing, it is a Christopher John Rogers X Target dress paired with a cute nude clutch from Target as well, and with nude heeled mules. I have accented this look with over the top pearl hair pins and pearl earrings. I have loved Target collaborations since before forever and I am utterly obsessed with the entire Christopher John Rogers X Target Collab pieces. I am gagging because I missed out on the pink long sleeve maxi. GIRL, you know this girl would have loved to style that look up to the nines! Right now, I am trying to really limit my spending on frivolous items. Girl, I am trying to be debt free in 5 years. These two pieces are ones that I can wear over and over again for years to come. I am trying not subscribe to fast fashion but I can't not support a black designer. I just must. Anyway, with that being said, see you next time! Big bisous!
