In the summer of 2019, in collaboration with Annisa Teich, managing director and co-owner of West Hartford Coworking, I, for Connecticut Bloggers Collective embarked on a revolutionary project space we called The Content Lab at West Hartford Coworking. In September 2019, West Hartford Coworking moved locations from West Hartford Center to an up and coming West Hartford neighborhood lovingly called New Park District by locals. New Park neighborhood sits close to the Hartford town line; nestled between the historic and art rich Hartford neighborhood Parkville and the busy New Britain Ave. This endeavor was a first to market think space full of natural light, flexible decor and furniture, and a full range of podcasting tools to help you creative entrepreneurs take their content to the next level. Unfortunately, in March 2020, only 4 months into our venture, the world was hit by an unprecedented global pandemic that closed the doors on The Content Lab for a time unbeknownst to us. It was devastating but necessary as the world hunkered down for the unknown. Scroll down for more…

Unfortunately, in March 2020, only 4 months into our venture, the world was hit by an unprecedented global pandemic that closed the doors on The Content Lab for a time unbeknownst to us.

In August 2020, my business partner and I formally decided to dissolve the partnership in the best interests of everyone. However, we agreed that The Content Lab would continue to take its efforts virtually; essentially pivot by offering services to creative entrepreneurs virtually under The Small Business Collective. I am in full support of this transition and wish my dear friend Annisa all the very best as she takes this magical idea to new heights providing services to creative entrepreneurs in CT. Although devastating for a novice business maven, I was at such peace and the virtual pivot for my partner looked very promising in the age of zoom. I was going through some incredibly challenging health problems and having the business or lack there of during those initial months of the pandemic was stressful. In addition, as many of you know, I am a nurse practitioner in the Neuroscience ICU. I have been a front-liner seeing the direct impact of the pandemic head on as people fought valiantly, some to no avail, for their lives. As a business owner, you are required to wear all the hats; marketing, graphic design, social media, innovation, financial, you name it! I learned so much from that experience; there are no losers when it comes to learning.

Entrepreneurship is a journey, often lonely. Optimize what you are good at, out source your weaknesses, stay consistent, work smart, take time for you, learn the trade, and don’t give up. If you speak it, if you believe it, if you work hard for it, if you stay persistent, you will receive it. I truly believe that. Lastly, sleep well, stay hydrated, take care of your skin and body — your body is your temple and I’ve learned the hard way that you only get one. Until next time, bisous bisous!
