Retro Fit Style

Home yoga with Curious Colour

Fitness has never been a huge part of my life. I am not even going to lie to you guys. Growing up in Zimbabwe, I played every and any sport. Sports was built into the curriculum from grade 1. I specifically remember being taken to learn how to swim since I was 3 years old to be ready for swimming when I started school at 5 years old. In the middle of the school day, during certain seasons, we would go to the pool for swimming. In grade 6, I was lucky enough to be taught swimming by a former Olympian for South Africa who was now our school teacher. Obvi, I delight in swimming and can swim every stroke because of my grade 6 teacher. This article isn’t about swimming but hello, you girl has derailed per usual.

Any who, I am the type of chick who really enjoys intentional exercise. I love hiking, swimming, and playing soccer. I am not the chick who likes going to a gym. It does nothing for me. I have no motivation for it unfortunately. It is my greatest flaw. Last year, we all learned to adjust as the world literally shut down. I began exercising with my oldest brother via zoom utilizing a medicine ball. It was fun and it also gave us an opportunity to catch up each week on each other’s lives. This began a need to engage in some sort of intentional physical activity at home. Scroll down for more…

“NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF A GREAT STRETCH FOR OVERALL HEALTH ESPECIALLY GUT HEALTH.”

Yoga at home is the new, new; or maybe I’m old, so it’s the old new for me. I’ve found a couple of you tubers I watch and I am able to have a soothing practice in my super funky, ultra retro yoga set from Curious Colour. My fave YouTube yogis are Yoga with Adriene and Arianna Elizabeth. They have a variety of practices for novices to experienced yogis. Never underestimate the power of a great stretch for overall health especially gut health. I’m on this health kick but it can be so hard to stay motivated if you feel like you are doing it alone. Wanna be my accountability buddy? Please email me. Not to sound to desperate but your girl needs a wellness friend. I am trying to really jump into this wellness realm but I get discouraged and lose motivation. If you have any good tips for your girl to keep up the motivation, please do tell.

I hope you guys check out the two yogis I posted above. They are great. Until next time, big bisous!
